Comments by Lauren Obrien:

Prospero Players’ version of ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’ was delightful, mesmerising and really captured the spirit of Shakespeare’s text.

I have seen this play many times, all professional productions in various settings but this was truly the most enjoyable version. From the moment the audience entered the school gates the strains of  string and percussion players wafted through the gardens, setting and framing the scene immediately.

The magnificent theatre seemed purpose built with its exquisite wooden hand crafted filigreed panels, painted ceiling and playful yet rigorously executed sets. The production was genuinely a joy to experience. The musicians acted seamlessly as a part of the show offering haunting and magical layers throughout. Costuming, make up, lighting and the cast came together beautifully to thoroughly entertain the crowd, which seemed to fully appreciate the attentions to detail. Thank you all for an enriching and heart filling night!
